Mission Statement :

Komagata Maru Heritage Foundation's purpose is to promote Indian Culture in Canada.

KHF will set up memory projects in the villages of all who suffered on the KOMAGATA MARU capturing the stories of the people who sacrificed.
 

Some of the immediate goals would be to educate our future generations the importance of this incident to our society through Books, Films and Documentaries etc.

Dedicate May 23rd and July 23rd as a Komagata Maru Day.

Hold "Relay for Komagata Maru"

Plan for the Centennial Celebration in 2014.

Promote Komagata Maru as a symbol of International recognition.

Heritage stories LIVE FOREVER...........KOMAGATA MARU is.......... our HERITAGE.

Our community today has achieved some of the highest ranks in Canada. it would not have been possible if the sacrifice was NOT made by our forefathers who were on KOMAGATA MARU and those who fought the legal fight on Vancouver soil in 1914.

KOMAGATA MARU HERITAGE FOUNDATION is proud of the 376 individuals and they deserve better recognition from Our Community, Our Governments in Canada and India.

Can you think of anything that has been done to memorize the struggle and injustice that took place 91 years ego ?

Exactly .... NOTHING

IT IS TIME, THAT WE GIVE THESE INDIVIDUALS THEIR JUST DUE IN PLACE OF HISTORY IN CANADA.

KHF will announce the functions for each year and raise funds for a particular cause.

KHF will hold fundraising functions and lobby Government officials to achieve the mission statement including acknowledgement and apology for this unfortunate incident.
